2001 Cline Sonoma County
Pinot Gris/Chardonnay
Pleasant and lively medium-bodied mouth feel with bright pear and smooth melon on the finish. Has a balanced roundness that shows the Pinot Gris’s ability to present its fuller side. A bit of vanilla from the oak aged Chardonnay makes for a perfect $11 bottle that never lets you down. The blend is 64% Pinot Gris and 36% Chardonnay. All southern Sonoma County fruit produced 5,752 cases.

California Vin Rouge
The Cline guys do some nice blending with quite a few Rhone varietals. Mourvedre and Carignane make up the main mix here and then the Syrah, Cinsault, Grenache and Alicante Bouschet are thrown in for good measure. Nice red berry fruit gives this blend an easy drinking feel and makes for a nice everyday dinner wine. It is soft but lively at the same time. Nice finish and good spice coming from the Syrah and Mourvedre.

Sonoma County Viognier
Here is everyone’s alternative to Chardonnay. Expand your horizons and find out how nice it is to drink Viognier. Here I will even help you pronounce it if you are feeling funny about it; (vee-oh-NYAY). See that was easy. This is a refreshing white wine that offers up some sweet pear on the nose and follows it up with a plump mouthfeel and mineral acidity that brings stone crushed flower pedals to mind. Nice crispness and light honeydew melon lingers on the finish and holds for a bit before fading off with a hint of clove at the very end. Don’t serve too cold, the flavors start to arise as this wine warms up a bit in the glass. 6,355 cases made.

California Vin Blanc
Fresh, clean and palette covering are 3 ways to explain this wild blend of white grapes. I’m not even going to tell you all the grape varieties in this white wine. Go get a bottle and look on the back label. Plenty of clean citrus flavors, floral aromas and plush mouthfeel. Some melon goodness and clean and cleansing stone hints come together in a wine that shows a lot of character. So many varietal come together for this wine.
