Among the banks of rivers and Livenza Meduna, the border between the provinces of Treviso and Pordenone, in the heart of a land once part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, located in Le Monde a territory whose name comes from the Germanic “Mundo”, indicating the protection granted by the Emperor of Austria to some selected soils.
In addition to the area, even the cellar Vineyards Le Monde has ancient origins. Created as winery of Villa Giustiniani the seat is placed in the center of Portobuffole fact, an ancient village merchant in 997 was already documented as a castle and river port of the Venetian Republic.
La Serenissima edified in these areas of large villas, located along the watercourses, were used to coordinate work in the fields of agriculture and to communicate with the world the commercial heart of the Venetian lagoon. And ‘so, in what is now the only remains of the houses still active in the land then owned the Villa, the seat of the cellar Vineyards Le Monde – built in 1700 – maintains the atmosphere and design of the era.
The area of vineyards in Le Monde today covers 22 hectares of vineyards, also 30 years old, embroider an area formed by large alluvial fans of the rivers Meduna Cellina and Tagliamento. Although part of the Friuli Grave DOC vineyards Le Monde play a calcareous soil – clay, which differs from those usually gravel of the Grave. And ‘from this very special geological features – together with an exhibition in north-south and an altitude of 20 m above sea level – that wines from vineyards Le Monde are considered real cru. Among whites predominate the Pinot Blanc , the Friuli , the Chardonnay , the Sauvignon and Pinot Grigio , while among the great red Refosco Red Penducolo , the Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon .
The farming system is adopted by the Company Guyot and care of the vineyards is based on a rational level culture with which we minimize the use of plant protection products containing chemicals. Therefore the nature of the soil, the ‘exposure, the climate and the sun in this particular context to contribute to yield a production of high quality wines, wines that are between the sea and the hills of Friuli, where the culture of wine is tradition.
