Visit the Castle Engarran for the weekend national parks & gardens

On the occasion of the weekend National parks and gardens on 5 and 6 June, the Castle of Engarran opened the doors of his 3-acre garden in the French fans. A walk inside the property where the resplendent beauty of his “madness” of the eighteenth century.
This visit was also an opportunity to explore the museum at this grape castle while tasting the delicious wines of the proposed by the castle.

Of the nearly 3 acres lies a magnificent French garden.Being born in the north side of Castle, it offers three floors, many statues and three basins in which we glimpse the folly of Engarran.

This garden requires constant maintenance of a gardener who reveals the beauty of this place. As the vines are well kept, it is not surprising to find excellent wines at the Chateau Engarran.

A museum that chronicles the past vineyard’s wine industry.

Like we said, the past Vineyard Engarran back to the seventeenth century and the owners have preserved the witnesses of this history in a museum well supplied.

In the museum, our curious look crosses the old wine and wine materials whose name is no longer taught in school. The state of this material is still well preserved! Probably he could still be used …

Sauvignon

The color is straw yellow and has pretty golden.
The nose of this wine opens with subtle notes of fruit and delicate white flesh (white peach, pear) and finished on a note of candied citrus (lemon).
On the palate, this wine offers plenty of freshness and aromatic expression pleasant. The finish is slightly tense characterized by greed brought a touch of lemon on the finish.

Castle of Engarran – Tradition 2008 – Coteaux du Languedoc-Montpellier Sandstone
Syrah – Grenache – Carignan
red wine – 10,05 €

This wine has a crimson red relatively shallow.
The nose develops scents to wish (strawberry, cherry, blackberry) which are mixed with sweet spices (coriander, pepper). A nice complement.
On the palate, the attack is fairly dense but restraint. The wine hints at these fruity without tannins, delicious and well kept, not disrupt its passage in the mouth. A true wine this summer 2008!

Castle of Engarran – Major Grenache 2007 – Coteaux du Languedoc-Montpellier Sandstone
Grenache (80%) – Syrah (20%)
Red wine – 13,50 €

What a pleasure to find this wine which is showing off a thick black color with ruby reflections.
The nose opens with notes of expressive and powerful cassis liqueur, still as impressive and enjoyable! After cooling the scents of prunes in the brandy appear at the same time as the chocolate carried by Grenache.
On the palate, the attack is round, smooth. The tannins are well in place. The aromas perceived on the nose are found in the mouth for our viewing pleasure. The finish is dry on the fruit (prunes) and lack of a hair extension that do well … but my lips are already placed on the glass looking for a new fun …

Easily accessible, the Castle of Engarran offers a unique scenery at the gates of Montpellier. His madness is an example of beauty and elegance that has taken place over the years.
