Another classification of wines is through its colors, namely red (rouge – red), white (blanc – white) and pink (rose – pink).
- Red Wines
The color of wine comes from the color of the skin of grapes, where the wort is left in contact with the skin of the grapes until they reach a desired color.
To make red wine, red grapes are crushed and the must spend part or the whole period of fermentation and in many cases, a period of maceration before or after the fermentation , in contact with the skins or skins. All the coloring material, multiple flavors and tannin compounds are found in the skins of the grapes and fermentation and maceration take care of them free. This release is often intensified by mechanical activation techniques (traced) or beaten during these periods. - White Wines
The white wines are those produced from green or white grapes, or from black grapes in these cases but never stop to the wort in contact with the skin of the grapes. The color obtained in white wines is greenish or yellowish. - Rose Wines
Pink (rose) is produced, leaving the juice in contact for a short time with the skins of grapes. It is usually produced using red grapes remain in contact with the skins (grape skin) over short periods. Less often is produced by mixing red and white vinto.
The last classification is known for wines that are separated such as sweets or dried.
