Wine label: Wine and horse

Since then, the horse was domesticated by man, and until the emergence of an internal combustion engine, we almost never parted. The Greeks even invented a centaur. Now, of course, not that. One horsepower – it is not the scale for us today, and for decorative purposes are not going to keep the horse – not tax the same. Remain, however, the characters. Images of horses lives on in art, books, cinema. And – on a wine label . No animal has mastered so well the area, like a horse. Of course, birds, dogs, kangaroos and other fish on the labels of wine, too, abound, but still a horse captured there more often. When a winemaker wishes to emphasize the strength and power, or conversely, the beauty and elegance of taste and flavor of their wines, the best way he does not pick up.


Besides, having studied several samples of the most successful, in our view, “horse” label design, we found that the relationship with these beautiful animals in wine – not just symbolic, and the most that neither is real. Some winemakers have land, formerly the habitat of wild mustangs, the other holding full horse farms, others are not just bred horses, but horse racing suit, the Fourth – besides wine and horse breeding – and even making horse carriages, stagecoach, and some even build their estates in the form of a horseshoe.

Wild mustangs on a wine label

Economy 14 Hands in eastern Washington, in the valley of the Columbia River, is so called because it is located within the historical habitat of miniature wild mustangs, the height at the shoulder which reached 14 hands, so they were then, and was measured. The images of these fast-paced, endurance, freedom-loving and colorful animals kept winemakers on the labels of their wines.

The Mustangs, however, were carried out not only in the vicinity of Washington, and their herds were driven across the expanses of the Wild West. Winery Wild Horse Winery in Paso Robles, also is named in honor of these beautiful wild creatures. Flagship wine sector is made on the basis of Pinot Noir, which is what winemakers consider synonymous with wild brumby – for the efforts that are needed to tame the wild nature of the class and make wine, they really can be proud of.
